President
Israr Syed has had a long and successful career in executive management, overseeing the operations and accounting departments of small and medium-sized companies for over two decades. His experience ranges from startups to acquisitions and mergers, making him a valuable asset to any organization. Currently, he serves as the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) for four companies, where he oversees the day-to-day administrative, accounting, and finance functions. With a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from California State University Northridge and an MBA with an Emphasis on Entrepreneurship and Finance from the University of California, Los Angeles, Israr is well-equipped to handle any financial challenge that comes his way. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Israr is also the President of a Non-Profit organization – Islamic Center Northridge. His commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive community is a testament to his character and dedication to making the world a better place.

Tasweer Hayat
Vice President
Tasweer Hayat is our senior community member serving the ICN for a decade, by profession, he is a Computer Engineer working with the well-recognized organization as a Senior Cloud Engineer and also taking care of the ICN ,IT Infrastructure Systems in the premises. He is actively participating in community outreach programs, striving to make a positive impact through acts of service and compassion. Serving, As a Vice President of the ICN board, he is Working closely with the Board and other Committees member, to contributes the strategic planning and decision-making, ensuring the ICN organization remains aligned with its core values and mission, encourage members to actively engage in acts of kindness and to embody the principles of love and understanding.

Tariq Ghaznavi
Secretary
Mohammad T Ghaznavi, former Director of the ICN Board, currently holds the position of Secretary. He is a business owner and has been serving the community for over 30 years. He holds multiple Master’s degrees in Philosophy, Political Science, Social Work, and Law and used to be a high-ranking official in the government of Pakistan. His passion for community development and social impact continues to be the cornerstone of his work, making him a respected leader in both the public and private sectors.

Mohammed Amin Suleman
Director of Tampa Masjid
Mohammed Suleman holds the position of Director of Tampa Masjid and serves as a Board Member at the Islamic Center of Northridge. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the prestigious University of Karachi and further pursued various courses at colleges and institutes in the USA. Mohammed is a successful Ecommerce entrepreneur, leveraging his expertise from previous roles in renowned fortune 500 companies such as PageNet (Miami), Kraft Foods (Chicago) and Boeing (Seattle).

Zaman Jaman
Director of Youth Program
Zaman Jaman is the Islamic Center of Northridge Board member and his title being Director of Youth Programs. He is a graduate of California State University Northridge in Engineering. While working as an engineer he had a desire to become a business owner. He opened a few restaurant chains and is also a Real Estate investor. He is a very active community member in the San Fernando Valley area and serves the Bengali community as well.

Arshad Javed
Treasurer
Arshad Javed is the District Sales Manager at Dr. Pepper Inc. He has been an active community member for the last 35+ years. As of now he is part of the board of directors with his position being the Treasurer at Islamic Center of Northridge. He was board of direct before too, form 1998 to 2004. Arshad Javed is also one of the founding community members of Islamic Center of Northridge. In his freetime he loves to spend it with his 3 children and grandchildren.

Khalid Hashmi
Director of Granada Masjid
Khalid Hashmi is a board member with the title of Director of Granada Hills Masjid. He owns multiple Denny’s franchises and has been living in the San Fernando Valley for over 20 years now. He is one of the active community members that has helped serve food during iftar in the month of Ramadan for the past 10+ years.

Mirza Qaiyum
Director of Education
Mirza has a Bachelor of Science and BE from Karachi, Pakistan, and MS (electrical) from Ohio, US. He was an engineer in the Steel Mill during his time in Pakistan and has been working as a maintenance engineer for 33 years. He is an active member of the Muslim community in the San Fernando Valley. Currently, he is serving as a director of education at the Islamic Center Northridge

Mufti Ibrahim Qureshi
Imam / Religious Director
Mufti Ibrahim has been the Imam/Religious Director of the Islamic Center of Northridge for almost 10 years. He memorized the Quran at a young age and did his higher Islamic studies at Darul Uloom Al Bury in England. He learned from many great scholars like the late Shaykh Yousuf Motala. He completed his Respiratory Therapist training and has been working for The California Rehab Center for the past year and a half. He resides in Los Angeles and likes to spend his free time with his wife and two kids, Yousuf and Younus
